Hello, I'm Victoria Villamil ଘ(੭◌ˊᵕˋ)੭* ੈ♡‧₊˚

I'm a Miami native with strong ties to my Venezuelan and Nicaraguan heritage. I have a deep passion and an endless love for the environment and all critters. As an Environmental Science major, focusing on policy and law, I hope to one day make a meaningful impact in protecting our beautiful planet.

In 2022, I started Bitter Beetles after wanting to promote conservation and a kinder view on arthropods. I spent two years as a Butterfly Specialist at a botanical garden, where I managed a Butterfly Lab and reared over 15 species of Florida native butterflies. While I’ve since stepped away to focus on Bitter Beetles and my studies, I still occasionally host in-person entomology and insect pinning classes in South Florida.

My art reflects my love for both nature and femininity. My designs are original, handmade, and crafted with intention, love, and care. જ⁀➴ ♡

I’ve worked with a variety of specimens, including beetles, hymenopterans, praying mantises, stick insects, arachnids, lepidopterans, odonates, true bugs, and more. I'm always looking forward to expanding the types of buggies I can honor through my art. 𓆦𓆣𓆨𓆑𓆤𓆧
